Kinderman Music Studio

Colleen Kinderman is an operatic soprano who regularly performs and maintains a successful studio of voice and piano students throughout New Jersey. She holds a Masters of Music in Voice Pedagogy and Performance, graduating with distinction from Westminster Choir College. During her time at Westminster she performed at such venues as the Kimmel Center, Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart and Carnegie Hall with the Westminster Symphonic Choir. A New Jersey native, Colleen received her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Muhlenberg College, graduating magna cum laude with emphases in Music History, Theory and Performance. There she received such distinctions as the Dorothy and Dexter Baker Foundation Award in the Performing Arts as well as the Muhlenberg College Summer Research Grant for her work on the female Czech composer VítÄ›zslava Kaprálová.


Her operatic experience ranges from performances with Boheme Opera NJ, Teatro Grattacielo, Princeton Friends of Opera, Opera Slavica, Westminster Opera Theater, Opera MODO, New Jersey Opera Theater and the Ameropa International Chamber Music Festival in Prague, Czech Republic, among others. Her musical theater credits include a wide variety of productions serving both in leading roles and as Music Director in the tri-state area. 


Colleen is also a frequent performer of oratorio and sacred music. She is currently serving as interim music director at St. John the Evangelist in Lambertville, NJ and has performed in the region as the soprano soloist for Handel's Messiah, Mozart's Requiem, Saint-Saens' Christmas Oratorio, Beethoven's Mass in C Major, among others. This season, Colleen will be the soprano soloist for Mozart's Missa Brevis in Bb k275 and Martines' Dixit Dominus with the Choral Arts Society of NJ as well as for the east coast premiere of Jocelyn Hagen's requiem Ashes of Roses with the Montgomery Chorale & Orchestra. 


As a professional chorister, she has the honor of performing and recording with many professional ensembles. Colleen is on the roster of the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir, the resident chorus of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and has the privilege of performing under the direction of Music & Artistic Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Director Dr. Joe Miller at notable venues such as The Kimmel Center and Carnegie Hall. She has worked with guest conductors for special engagements including Riccardo Muti, Nathalie Stutzmann, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Marin Alsop, among others. She can also be seen in the Netflix movie “Maestro” starring and directed by Bradley Cooper and heard on the Grammy nominated soundtrack released by Deutsche Grammaphon.  


A seasoned educator, Colleen has worked and studied with some of the country’s leading voice teachers and pedagogues including Dr. Scott McCoy, Dr. Christopher Arneson and Margaret Cusack. She is certified in Somatic Voicework™ and is a proud member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. Her functional based teaching has led students to such prestigious institutions as Westminster Choir College, NYU, Berklee College of Music, New England Conservatory, among others. Colleen and her family are based in Lambertville, NJ.




Jacob Kinderman is an operatic baritone and session guitarist based in Lambertville, NJ. Past engagements include performances with Des Moines Metro Opera, Charlottesville Opera, New York Lyric Opera, Opera Slavica, and Princeton University. He has performed many of the major operatic and music theatre roles for baritone including the title roles of Don GiovanniEugene Onegin, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, Sky Masterson in Guys & Dolls, Sir Harry in Once Upon A Mattress, John Truitt in Meet Me In St. Louis, and many more. 


Originally from Olympia, WA, Jacob studied under Seattle guitarist Phil Lawson at Saint Martin’s University. In the summer of 2008 he had the privilege of performing in multiple master classes with the internationally renowned classical guitarist Christopher Parkening as part of a select group hosted at Montana State University. He also spent four years with the Saint Martin’s University Jazz Combo performing throughout the Puget Sound area. Jacob has been teaching voice, guitar, and piano in central New Jersey for over 10 years and his students have been accepted into top university and music conservatory programs with many receiving substantial scholarships. 


Jacob has also enjoyed a successful career in concert management as a Booking Agent and Artist Manager. He has worked with artists and organizations such as Alan Menken, The Boston Pops Orchestra, Kathleen Battle, Javier Perianes, Pepe Romero, Isabel Leonard, Danny Elfman, and many more. He previously managed the midwest territory for the largest classical management firm in the world, Columbia Artists Management, booking national touring productions, Disney Film with Live Orchestra projects, and hundreds of internationally renowned classical soloists with the largest symphonies and concert halls in the country. He also previously managed Wu Fei, an internationally renowned composer and Guzheng virtuoso who most recently released an album with the Grammy-winning Banjo player Abigail Washburn under Smithsonian Folkways Records. 


Jacob holds a Master of Music in Voice Pedagogy & Performance from Westminster Choir College and a B.A. in Music in Voice Performance & Guitar Performance from Saint Martin's University.
